Black Hand

In this Elseworld Universe William Hand is a man born with a condition that leaves him in a helpless and bed ridden state if he does not feed upon the life essence of others.  Hand discovered at a young age his ability to touch others with his right hand and absorb their life essence, causing his victims to die while greatly enhancing him physically. Hand's physical abilities and stamina are tripled from absorbing the life essence of others as well as his resistance to physical injury, illness and poisons  Hand also discovered that the more life essences he absorbs the longer his life span is extended.  Hand is obsessed with the idea of living forever even if it means the death of all others on Earth to achieve this. Hand can function for several months at a time before he actually needs to absorb the essence of another human.  He can absorb the life force of other animals and plants but the effects are much reduced compared to that of absorbing human essence.   It is unknown how old William Hand truly is.   He is the only foe that Hal Jordan battled as Green Lantern that is still active as an adversary to current Green Lantern John Stewart.  Hand has now taken to acts of mischief and various schemes in order to draw the attention of Green Lantern and other extraterrestrial linked heroes and villains as he has now set his sights on attempting to absorb various extraterrestrial life essences in his quest to achieve immortality.
