Miss Liberty and The Mighty Destroyer

Miss Liberty is this alternate Marvel Universe's version of Madeline Joyce/Miss America. Madeline Duclois was the patriotic young daughter of a French diplomat who became a French resistance fighter after her father was killed during the beginning of the Nazi occupation of France.  

Inspired by the exploits of Captain America prior to his arrival in the European Front, Duclois created her Miss Liberty identity as a rallying symbol for the resistance against the Nazis.  Duclois was an accomplished fencer as well as a skilled hand to hand combatant and marksman.


The man known as the Mighty Destroyer in this alternate Marvel Universe is Omar Mosley, an African American writer playwright who came to live in France in the 1930's due to the country being more accepting to African Americans at the time than his country of birth.

Mosely adopts the Mighty Destroyer identity in order to assist and protect his lover Madeline Duclois in her resistance fighting identity of Miss Liberty after the Nazi occupation of France.  Mosley was a highly skilled hand to hand combatant having learn various boxing techniques as a youth for self defense purposes and would later learn Savate after coming to France. Mosley's Destroyer guise included special near indestructible vibranium laced gauntlets, boots and knee guards that he had made by a scientist acquaintance (who secretly was a rogue Wakandan scientist seeking to sell samples of vibranium ore for study to the world outside of Wakanda) which allowed him to cause considerable damage to Nazi vehicles, equipment and personnel.      


Both Miss Liberty and the Mighty Destroyer became members of the Invaders when the group of heroes first encountered the Nazi formed group known as the Super Axis and remained active with the group until the end of the war.  Duclois and Mosley went on to wed and live a normal life afterwards becoming the parents of four children.  In this alternate universe two of their grandchildren have been revealed to have followed in their former heroic footsteps : a granddaughter who is this alternate Marvel Universe's version of Citizen V and a grandson who is this alternate universe's version of the Paladin.
